I promise that my lessons are going to be good fun but that you'll also come away feeling that it was worth it and that you've learned something useful. I will be sure to get to know you all so that we can choose topics that you're interested in and can put into practice in everyday life.

EMILY - UK

Who am I?
Hello, I'm Emily and I'm from the UK. I'm bilingual in Czech and English, but grew up in London. I currently live and study in Brno at Masaryk University. I moved to the Czech republic to improve my Czech.

What do you love?
I love walking, camping and being in nature. I also love the city too, and I am currently enjoying living in Brno. It's just the right mix of small and yet well-connected, and there's always interesting little events happening everywhere. I love seeing small, local developments - especially with regards to music, culture and food.

Why me?
The reason I wanted to teach for Tip Top Lingua is because I liked their concept. The causal, content-led approach to learning a language is the best way to go about it. I want to help people improve their skills and I want to do it in a comfortable and friendly atmosphere - like chatting with a friend over coffee. I want to speak about things which interest us and engage us, and I guess I don't want it to feel like a lesson at all.

I have a lot of experience and it's a joy for me to see students improve over the course of my lessons. Also, I can explain English grammar if needed and I can help you with writing tasks.

My life slogan or credo?
Everything will work out, just pass me the corkscrew.

Why me?

CAITLIN - USA

Who am I?
Hello :) My name is Caitlin and I am from the US. I was born in Rhode Island, grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina, completed my university studies in Georgia near the Florida border, lived in Clearwater, Florida and have lived in Poland, Vietnam, and now the Czech. I went to school for Economics and International Business.

What do you love?
I love to travel – 15 countries and 22 states and my list of places “to-go” seems to be never ending. I love to learn about new cultures and try new foods. I also really enjoy watersports like kayaking and paddle boarding, and I also enjoy hiking, running, and yoga. I can never seem to sit still, but when I finally do I enjoy reading and enjoying a good cup of coffee.

Dislike?
I dislike that I wasn’t able to bring my doggo with me to the Czech. He is my adventure partner when I am home, so that is one of the largest downsides to travelling is not being able to bring him along.

My life slogan or credo?
“A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.” - Chinese Proverb

Why me?
I enjoy being silly and having fun. Life is too short to be serious all the time. I can definitely relate when it comes to learning a new language and have found that it is important to be comfortable with being uncomfortable, i.e. mistakes will happen but that is all a part of the learning process. I have a wide range of interests, so it is easy for me to discuss & talk on just about any topic. I want my students to look forward to their lessons and feel that they are a highlight to their day, not a chore or a tedious task. :)

MICHAELA - CZ

Who am I?
Hi! My name is Míša and I am a student at Masaryk University, Faculty of Education. Before university, I studied design in secondary school. Despite the fact I am not studying it anymore, it still remains something that I am passionate about.

What do you love?
I am a huge fan of Stephen King novels, (Green Mile being my favorite!) I enjoy watching new series, trying foods from different cultures across the world, camping and taking walks in the woods with my dog. Yoga has recently became my favorite activity to do when I am not at school or work. :)

My life slogan or credo?
"With freedom, books, flowers, and the moon, who could not be happy?" – Oscar Wilde

Why me?
In my past teaching experiences I have been able to help those who were shy speak with confidence and improve their overall skills. If you come to my lessons, I will create a course which encourages everyone to speak without any judgements or fears. I myself know how scary it can be to speak a second language!

VERONIKA - CZ

I love swimming, drawing, playing the guitar, travelling, but most of all – going for walks with my little chihuahua dog Frankie! Being an enthusiatic nature lover, I also try to spend as much of my free time as possible somewhere in the woods, walking around the lakes or climbing the moutains.

My life slogan or credo?
"If you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely." - Roald Dahl

Why me?

Besides, I am a quite flexible person so we can discuss any topics you will find interesting – e.g. from New York community gardening through cockfighting in Philippines to the lastest film of Tim Burton.
